Excellent first time pass rate
Many learner drivers believe that it is perfectly fine to fail the driving test the first time. The number of people that fail their driving test may be high, but the number that passes the test the first time is also high. It’s been statistically proven that you actually stand a better chance of passing your driving test the first time round. After you fail a test, you will feel disappointed as a result of the emotion and the finances you put into the process. For a driving school where you’ll get the best lessons to help you pass your driving test on the first attempt, come to Smart Drive UK. We take pride in the fact that, as a driving school, our first time pass rates are among the highest across the UK.

What type of car will I be learning in?
We know that there are many students that want to learn how to drive in manual cars, and there are also those that prefer automatic transmission. We can cater to both groups, so the choice ultimately comes down to you. Manual and automatic cars are equally popular across the UK, and your choice is completely to your wishes. Can’t make up your mind on one choice over the other? You can talk to us right away and we will be delighted to help (please note automatic cars are subject to availability). Call us today on 07760 767170 for expert advice.
Is it right to begin my driving lessons before I have passed the theory test?
Many people will tell you it’s better to pass the theory test before taking practical driving lessons. There is nothing wrong with this, as it makes sense to understand how a car works before you get into the driver’s seat. However, our approach here at Smart Drive UK is to mix theoretical and practical training. The combination creates a synergy which makes it easier to grasp both elements of driving training at the same time. Another advantage to starting your driving test right away, is that you will be better prepared for the theory test.
What is the duration of each lesson?
We know you’d like to find out how long it will take you to complete a lesson, so you can better plan your day. The duration of each lesson depends on your aptitude, and the instructor assigned to you. With our system of training, and the way we have structured our courses, however, you can expect to spend around two hours in a session. If you’d like a lesson schedule that is faster or slower, simply call us to discuss what you need.
How often should I have my driving lessons?
We are well aware that your schedule is likely different from everyone else’s. However, it is best if a learner driver gets at least two hours of driving training every week. You can continue with this schedule if you prefer it. Or you can opt for a more flexible schedule, which we’ll be more than happy to accommodate. If you prefer back to back training each day, this can speed up your learning process, and help you prepare for the driving test that little bit faster. Whatever your schedule is, we’ve got you covered.

Can I have lessons in my own car?
Under certain circumstances, you might want to receive driving lessons in your car. We are amenable to this because we believe training with your own car can be helpful if you intend on taking the driving test with that same car. It might also be the case of you owning a new car and trying to familiarise yourself with it. Whatever your motive is, our experts at Smart Drive UK can have you ready for your test with training in your own car. But this type of service is only available to clients with registered and comprehensively insured roadworthy vehicles. One of our instructors will notify your car insurance company that your vehicle will be used for driving lessons, and will also inspect your car to verify its valid registration.
Can I have more than one lesson a week?
We are ready to accommodate you if you have the time for more than one lesson a week. At Smart Drive UK, we have both fixed and flexible schedules that can accommodate everyone. If you prefer a shorter training and practice programme that involves multiple driving lessons every week, we can arrange it. Our priority is that you learn at a pace you are most comfortable with and are prepared in time to take and pass your driving test on the first try. The first time pass rate of our students is a clear indication you are in good hands when you choose Smart Drive UK.

New Hazard Perception Test
The Hazard Perception test is part of the UK theory test for learner drivers. It is a compulsory test that has to be passed before you can be granted a full driver’s license. A series of videos will be shown during the test, depicting everyday road scenes and a developing hazard. You have to provide appropriate responses to the developing hazard in order to pass the test. The Hazard Perception Test comes before the practical driving test at the DVLA, and we have all the materials and information you need to pass the Hazard Perception Test on your first try. After practicing with our collection of Hazard Perception videos and revision questions, you’ll be more than prepared for the test.

Theory Test Practice
Don’t fret about acing your driving test, as we have a solution to make it easier for you. Smart Drive UK helps you get ready for the DVLA driving test by providing mock theory test practice. Driving test in London
The driving test is the official DVLA test you have to take before obtaining your driver’s license. We are confident that after attending any of our driving courses, you’ll have what it takes to pass the test on the first attempt. So many of our customers have passed the test the first time that we are confident you can achieve similar results.
Booking your Test
How do I book a test?
Go to the official Gov.UK website to book your driving test. Booking through a third-party website can end up costing you more. Booking a driving test comes after you have passed the hazard perception test and theory test. Does this sound confusing? Don’t worry, our instructors at Smart Drive UK will be available to guide you through every stage of the process.
How long will it take before the tests are completed?
For the driving test to be completed, you have to complete five steps, including vehicle reversing, independent driving, safety questions, driving ability, and an eyesight check. The process is the same for both manual and automatic transmission. You will only have to spare about 40 minutes to complete the driving test.
What you should expect on the day of the test.
First, you will have to show your theory test certificate and your provisional license, after which you will be required to read the number of a license plate some metres away, as a way to test your eyesight. If you pass this stage, you will be asked a series of ‘show and tell’ questions by the examiner to demonstrate your knowledge. Next, you will be made to prove to the examiner that you can drive safely and effectively no matter the terrain, as well as successfully reverse a vehicle. The test includes 20 minutes of independent driving, possibly with an emergency stop. In its entirety, the driving test should not take more than 40 minutes or so. Remember that while the practical driving test can be nerve-racking, all you will be asked to do has already been covered as you went through your driving course.
So you have completed the test
Ready for a full driving license
Well done, you have successfully completed your practical driving test. The next step is to apply for a full driving a license. The results of your practical driving test will be sent to the DVLA, where your license will be processed. You should receive your license no later than three weeks after passing the practical driving test. Our representatives at Smart Drive UK are always ready to provide guidance throughout the process of getting a driving license. We will only have carried out our mandate when you have become a qualified and licensed driver.
