Can I be picked up and dropped off in a different place?
If you’d like a driving school that offers flexibility in pick-up times, we are your best bet. One of the things that sets us apart from the crowd is the fact that our instructors have no problem with picking you up for classes from anywhere you want, and will also drop you off at any location of your choosing. We understand the need for you to only want to focus on driving training, instead of how to get to the training location and back, so we are able to, for instance, pick you up at school and drop you off at home after the session. First time pass almost guaranteed
A common misconception amongst learner drivers is that a fail on the first driving test attempt is normal. It is quite possible that some will fail, but a lot more will pass. In fact, according to statistics, you have a higher chance of passing your driving test the first time. Failing a driving test is disappointing, both financially and emotionally, and it will cost more time and money to prepare for another test. Smart Drive UK is one of the leading names in the driving school niche in Storrington, because we have developed a curriculum that ensures an even higher chance of a first time pass. We take pride in the fact that, as a driving school, our first time pass rates are among the highest across the UK.

What type of cars do you have for learners?
There are some learner drivers who prefer to learn with automatic vehicles only, while there are those who opt for the manual or gear stick variety. We can cater to both groups, so the choice ultimately comes down to you. Both manual and automatic cars are common on UK roads, and either choice will work well for whatever you need it for. Not sure which option to go with? We have expert advisers on hand to help you make a decision. (please note automatic cars are subject to availability). Give us a call right away on 07760 767170 for the advice you need.
Can I begin my driving lessons before I have passed the theory test?
You will generally be advised to hold on your practical driving lessons until you have passed your theory test. That thought process isn’t entirely wrong, as this method will give you adequate background knowledge on using a car before you actually get in the driver’s seat. As experts in the industry, however, we know that it is best to combine both theoretical and practical training. With this, you can immediately see how the things you have learnt in theory can work in practice. Additionally, starting your driving lessons will help you better prepare for the theory test.
How long will it take to complete a lesson?
We know you’d like to find out how long it will take you to complete a lesson, so you can better plan your day. The duration of each lesson is dependent on the teacher, as well as how fast you assimilate information. However, our skilled instructors, working with a properly planned course outline, ensure that you will spend only two hours on average on each task. If you’d like a lesson schedule that is faster or slower, simply call us to discuss what you need.
How often should I have my driving lessons?
We are well aware that your schedule is likely different from everyone else’s. However, if you can get at least two hours of driving training every week, it will be sufficient. You can decide to keep this schedule if it suits you. But if you’d prefer a more flexible schedule, we can arrange something for you. If you prefer back to back training each day, this can speed up your learning process, and help you prepare for the driving test that little bit faster. Regardless of your schedule, we can put together a programme that best suits your needs.

Can I have lessons in my own car?
Many individuals prefer driving lessons being received in their own car. This could be a great idea, especially if you intend on using your car to take the driving test. It’s also possible that you just got the car and are looking to familiarise yourself with it. Whatever the reason, at Smart Drive UK, we are able to offer our customers driving lessons in their own car. But we can only provide this service if your car is insured, roadworthy, and registered. An inspection of your car to verify its valid registration, and a call to your insurance company to inform them your car will be used for driving lessons will be carried out by one of our instructors.
Can I have more than one lesson a week?
If your schedule allows for more than one lesson a week, then there’s no reason not to take advantage. Our Smart Drive UK fixed and flexible schedule plans can be personalised to suit even the busiest individual’s schedule. If you prefer multiple lessons every week to speed up your learning process, we can deliver. Our priority is to provide you the training you need at your preferred pace, and have you prepared to ace the driving test the first time. Our impressive first time pass rate is a clear sign of our capability to make you a roadworthy driver within your preferred time frame.

New Hazard Perception Test
The Hazard Perception Test is essential for UK learner drivers looking to pass the driving theory exam. It is a compulsory test that has to be passed before you can be granted a full driver’s license. The test consists of a number of videos which depict a typical road scene and a developing hazard. You have to provide appropriate responses to the developing hazard in order to pass the test. To ensure you progress to the practical driving test at the DVLA, we offer our students comprehensive preparation for the Hazard Perception test, which is a precursor. We will provide you access to various revision questions, as well as our collection of Hazard Perception videos.

Theory Test Practice
If you’re worried about passing your driving test, don’t be, as we’ve made it easy for you. Smart Drive UK makes provisions for mock theory test practice modelled after the DVLA driving exam. As long as you can pass this, you can pass the DVLA theory practice test, which is required before you can take the actual theory test.
Storrington driving test
You are required to pass the official DVLA driving test before you can obtain your driver’s license. We are confident that after attending any of our driving courses, you’ll have what it takes to pass the test on the first attempt. Our customers have proven that our courses are likely to result in a first time pass.
Make a test booking
Where do I go to book a test?
First, we suggest that you make your booking via the official Gov.UK website. It is more cost-effective to avoid booking through a third-party website. You are required to pass the theory test and hazard perception test before you can book the driving test. Can’t quite wrap your head around it? The process will get clearer when you work with our instructors at Smart Drive UK, who will guide you from day one.
How long will I have to wait to complete the test?
The driving test has five aspects, which include an eyesight check, driving ability, safety questions, vehicle reversing, and independent driving. It is the same process for automatic transmission as it is for manual transmission. The actual driving test takes an average of 40 minutes to complete.
What can I expect on test day?
Before anything else, you will show your theory test and provisional license and then prove you have good eyesight by reading a number plate from a distance. Next, you will have to demonstrate your knowledge by answering a series of show and tell questions, but only if you pass the eye test. After this stage, you are required to prove to the examiner that you can successfully complete a reversing manoeuvre, plus drive safely and effectively on different types of roads. The examiner will ask you to drive on your own for about 20 minutes and, along the way, may ask you to complete an emergency stop. You can expect to spend about 40 minutes on the driving test. Nothing you encounter during the practical driving test is beyond what you have already covered in your driving lessons, so while it may be nerve-racking, nothing will be entirely new.
So you have completed the test
Ready for a full driving license
You should be proud now that you have passed your practical driving test. Now, you can apply for a full driving license. Your license will be processed by the DVLA once the results of the practical driving test are in. You should receive your license no later than three weeks after passing the practical driving test. In order to ensure you have all the assistance you need, we at Smart Drive UK are always available to guide you through the process of obtaining a driving license. We are not done until you have been licensed as a qualified driver.
