Can I have lessons in my own car?
Under certain circumstances, you might want to receive driving lessons in your car. This is understandable, and may even be a great idea if you intend on using your own car during your driving test. It’s also possible that you just got the car and are looking to familiarise yourself with it. Regardless of what your motive might be, Smart Drive UK can deliver driving lessons in your own car. It’s test day, now what?
Once you have showed your provisional license and theory test certificate, you will be asked to read the digits of a license plate a few feet away to prove you have good eyesight. If you pass this stage, you will be asked a series of ‘show and tell’ questions by the examiner to demonstrate your knowledge. The next stage involves proving that you can successfully reverse a car and drive without issue on different types of roads. During the test, you will be asked to engage in independent driving for about 20 minutes and the examiner may include an emergency stop. The entire driving test should last about 40 minutes. We understand that you may be extremely nervous during the practical driving test, but remember that you have already encountered all you’ll have to do in your driving lessons.

What to expect before obtaining your full driving license
Well done, you have successfully completed your practical driving test. Now, you can apply for a full driving license. Once the results of your practical driving test are sent to the DVLA, your license will be processed. You should receive your license no later than three weeks after passing the practical driving test.
