What are the types of cars available for learning in?
We have students who only want to learn how to drive in automatic vehicles, just as there are others who prefer to learn in only manual vehicles. You will have the freedom to choose what car you’d like to learn in, as we have both manual and automatic cars. Manual and automatic cars are equally popular across the UK, and your choice is completely to your wishes. Can I start driving lessons without having passed the theory test?
Generally, you will be advised to pass the theory test before you go for your practical driving lessons. This system has it benefits, as you will then know enough about using a car before getting behind the wheel. With this, you can immediately see how the things you have learnt in theory can work in practice. What is the duration of each lesson?

How often should I have my driving lessons?
We understand that schedules differ from individual to individual. But two hours of driving training every week is the recommended minimum for learner drivers. You can continue with this schedule if you prefer it. Or you can opt for a more flexible schedule, which we’ll be more than happy to accommodate. Many of our clients that have the time prefer opting for back to back training every day, so they can be prepared for their driving exam faster. Can I have lessons in my own car?
Certain people prefer receiving their driving training behind the wheel of their private cars. This is understandable, and may even be a great idea if you intend on using your own car during your driving exam. It’s also possible that you just got the car and are looking to familiarise yourself with it. Whatever your reason, Smart Drive UK can prepare you for your driving exam with your personal car. However, this is only possible if the car is roadworthy, registered, and comprehensively insured. A notification will be sent to your car insurance company concerning your vehicle being used for driving sessions, and verification of the valid registration of your car can be performed by one of our driving instructors.

New Hazard Perception Test
The Hazard Perception test is part of the UK theory test for learner drivers. You cannot be issued a full driver’s license without passing the Hazard Perception Test. This test involves a series of videos, detailing everyday road scenes and, in one case, a developing hazard. You have to provide appropriate responses to the developing hazard in order to pass the test. What is the duration of the tests?
There are five parts to the practice driving test, including independent driving, vehicle reversing, an eyesight check, safety questions, and driving ability. It is the same process for automatic transmission as it is for manual transmission. It only takes about 40 minutes to complete the driving test.
What you should expect on the day of the test.
The first stage will test your eyesight by making you read from a number plate, but before that, you will have to show your theoretical test certificate and your provisional license. Once you have passed through this stage, the examiner will test your knowledge by asking a number of show and tell questions. Following this, you will have to prove your skills as a driver and let the examiner know that you are capable of reversing a vehicle and driving on different types of roads effectively and safely. The examiner will ask you to drive on your own for about 20 minutes and, along the way, may ask you to complete an emergency stop. You can expect to spend about 40 minutes on the driving test. We understand that you may be extremely nervous during the practice driving test, but remember that you have already encountered all you’ll have to do in your driving lessons.
