Do you offer the flexibility of pick up at my specific chosen location?
If convenience and flexibility is your major criteria for choosing a driving school, you will love our service. As one of the value added services we offer, we make sure that the meetup venue isn’t set in stone, allowing us to pick you up anywhere you may be, and drop you off somewhere else. We understand the need for you to only want to focus on driving training, instead of how to get to the training location and back, so we are able to, for instance, pick you up at school and drop you off at home after the session. To find out how we can help you with this service, get in touch with us immediately.

One of the highest first time pass rates
If you are like most learner drivers, then you probably believe that it is normal to fail a driving test the first time. The number of people that fail their driving test may be high, but the number that passes the test the first time is also high. Statistics show that there is a higher probability of passing your driving test the first time. Failing a driving test is not just disappointing, it can be financially and emotionally draining to prepare for another attempt. Smart Drive UK is one of the leading names in the driving school niche in Ringwood, because we have developed a curriculum that ensures an even higher chance of a first time pass. We take pride in the fact that, as a driving school, our first time pass rates are among the highest across the UK.

What type of cars do you have for learners?
We have students who only want to learn how to drive in automatic vehicles, just as there are others who prefer to learn in only manual vehicles. We can cater to both groups, so the choice ultimately comes down to you. Manual and automatic cars are equally popular across the UK, and your choice is completely to your wishes. Not sure which option to go with? We have expert advisers on hand to help you make a decision. (please note automatic cars are subject to availability). We are waiting by the phone for you.
Is it right to begin my driving lessons before I have passed the theory test?
Generally, you will be advised to pass the theory test before you go for your practical driving lessons. There is nothing wrong with this, as it makes sense to understand how a car works before you get into the driver’s seat. However, our approach here at Smart Drive UK is to mix theoretical and practical training. This way, you can bring what you learnt in theory practice and see how it works practically. Additionally, starting your driving lessons will help you better prepare for the theory test.
What is the length of time for each lesson?
We know you’d like to better plan your day, so you’ll want to find out how long it will take you to complete a lesson. The duration of each lesson is dependent on the teacher, as well as how fast you assimilate information. However, with our instructors, and our carefully crafted training system, you can expect to spend an average of 2 hours on each lesson. If you’d like a lesson schedule that is faster or slower, simply call us to discuss what you need.
How often should I have my driving lessons?
We understand that every individual has their unique schedule. However, it is best if a learner driver gets at least two hours of driving training every week. If you like, you can choose to maintain this schedule. If, however, you want a more flexible schedule, we are always willing to accommodate you. Such as back to back trainings each day, that will get you prepared for your driving test in shorter time. Whatever your schedule is, we’ve got you covered.

Can I have lessons in my own car?
Under certain circumstances, you might want to receive driving lessons in your car. This is not only understandable, but also a great idea, especially if you plan to use the car for your driving test. It might also be the case of you owning a new car and trying to familiarise yourself with it. Whatever the reason, at Smart Drive UK, we are able to offer our customers driving lessons in their own car. But such a service can only be offered if your vehicle is registered and deemed roadworthy, as well as possessing comprehensive insurance. A notification will be sent to your car insurance company concerning your vehicle being used for driving lessons, and verification of the valid registration of your car can be performed by one of our instructors.
Can I have more than one lesson a week?
We can provide you multiple lessons per week if your busy schedule permits it. This is thanks to our flexible and fixed schedules that can accommodate you, regardless your circumstance. If your plan is to speed up the learning process by having multiple lessons in a week, we can arrange that. Our priority is to provide you the training you need at your preferred pace, and have you prepared to ace the driving test the first time. The first time pass rate of our students is a clear indication you are in good hands when you choose Smart Drive UK.

What is Pass Plus?
Pass Plus is a UK scheme targeted at new drivers who’ve recently passed their driving test. Many new drivers lack the confidence to drive on busy public roads. Once you’ve passed your driving test, our next job at Smart Drive UK is to help you develop the skills and knowledge needed to make you a safer and more confident driver. Your initial training will get you familiar with most major road conditions, but Pass Plus training will allow you to leave your immediate vicinity to experience the roads first hand. Do you have any questions? Contact us by phone for a friendly chat about our Pass Plus scheme.
New Hazard Perception Test
The Hazard Perception test is part of the UK theory test for learner drivers. You have to pass the Hazard Perception test before you can be issued a full driver’s license During the test, various videos depicting normal road scenes and a developing hazard will be shown to you. Responding appropriately to the developing hazard will determine if you pass the test. We have the expertise and materials at Smart Drive UK to ensure you pass your Hazard Perception Test, which comes before the practical driving test at the DVLA. Are there tests that I must pass to get my license?
Mock theory test
Don’t fret about acing your driving test, as we have a solution to make it easier for you. At Smart Drive UK, our mock theory test practice is tailored to the DVLA driving exam. As long as you can pass this, you can pass the DVLA theory practice test, which is required before you can take the actual theory test.
Take your driving test in Ringwood
You are required to pass the official DVLA driving test before you can obtain your driver’s license. We are confident that after attending any of our driving courses, you’ll have what it takes to pass the test on the first attempt. The hundreds of customers who have used our service and passed the test the first time provide sufficient evidence that our courses are designed to deliver results.
Book your tests
What do I have to do to book a test?
The best way to book your driving test is to do so through the official Gov.UK website. You may lose money if you decide to book via a third-party website instead. Booking a driving test comes after you have passed the hazard perception test and theory test. Does this sound confusing? You don’t have to worry too much, because our instructors at Smart Drive UK will be on hand to guide you through it all.
What is the duration of the tests?
There are five parts to the practical driving test, including independent driving, vehicle reversing, an eyesight check, safety questions, and driving ability. The process is the same for both manual and automatic transmission. The actual driving test takes an average of 40 minutes to complete.
What you should expect on the day of the test.
The first stage will test your eyesight by making you read from a number plate, but before that, you will have to show your theory test certificate and your provisional license. If you pass this stage, you will be asked a series of ‘show and tell’ questions by the examiner to demonstrate your knowledge. The next stage involves proving that you can successfully reverse a car and drive without issue on different types of roads. During the test, you will be asked to engage in independent driving for about 20 minutes and the examiner may include an emergency stop. Approximately 40 minutes will be sufficient for you to complete the driving test. It is perfectly normal to be nervous during the practical driving test, but there is really nothing to it because everything you will have to do, you have already done through the course of your driving lessons.
Post-Test
What happens before you get your full driving license?
Great job acing that practical driving test. You can now proceed to the next step, which is to apply for a proper driving license. The examiner will send the results of your practical driving test to the DVLA, who will process your license. You should expect to receive this within three weeks of passing the practical driving test. In order to ensure you have all the assistance you need, we at Smart Drive UK are always available to guide you through the process of obtaining a driving license. We will only have carried out our mandate when you have become a qualified and licensed driver.
