Is it possible to start my driving lessons before I have passed the theory test?
Many people will think about passing the theory test before taking practical driver training. There are benefits to this advice, as it is in your best interest to, first and foremost, understand how a car works before you get into it. One thing we have learnt in our experience here at Smart Drive UK, however, is that combining theoretical and practical training is always the best bet. This way, you can bring what you learnt in theory practice and see how it works practically. Additionally, starting your driving lessons will help you better prepare for the theory test.
How long will it take to complete a lesson?
You probably combine a variety of activities over your day, so you’ll want to find out how long it will take to complete a lesson. The duration of each lesson depends on your aptitude, and the driving instructor assigned to you. With our system of training, and the way we have structured our courses, however, you can expect to spend around two hours in a session. Do you think you can learn faster? Contact us to set up a faster instruction programme .
How often should I have my driving lessons?
We are well aware that your schedule is likely different from everyone else’s. Nonetheless, if you are a learner driver, at least two hours of driving training per week can be very beneficial. You can continue with this schedule if you prefer it. Or we can arrange a more flexible schedule that suits your needs. For instance, we can provide you back to back training that’ll get you sufficiently prepared for your driving test sooner. Whatever your schedule is, we’ve got you covered.
Can I have lessons in my own car?
Many individuals prefer driving training being received in their own car. If you intend on using your car for the driving test, we believe practising with your own car could be a great idea. It might also be the case of you owning a new car and trying to familiarise yourself with it. Whatever the reason, at Smart Drive UK, we are able to offer our customers driver training in their own cars. But this type of service is only available to clients with registered and comprehensively insured roadworthy vehicles. Our driving instructor will need to inspect the car to check for valid registration and may be required to notify your car insurance company that the car will be used for driving lessons.
Can I have more than one lesson a week?
We are ready to accommodate you if you have the time for more than one lesson a week. This is possible thanks to our accommodating flexible and fixed schedules at Smart Drive UK. If you prefer multiple lessons every week to speed up your learning process, we can deliver. Our aim is to have you master driving at your own pace and be ready to ace your driving test the first time you take it. We have a very impressive first-time pass rate, so you’re in reliable hands no matter your schedule or learning speed.

A series of videos will be shown during the test, depicting everyday road scenes and a developing hazard. You have to provide appropriate responses to the developing hazard in order to pass the test. As part of our training at Smart Drive UK, we offer comprehensive preparation to all our students for this test, which comes before the practical driving test at the DVLA. At Smart Drive UK, you’ll have access to our Hazard Perception video collection, as well as a series of revision questions.

Required tests you must pass before you are issued your license
Theory Test Practice
If you’re worried about passing your driving test, don’t be, as we’ve made it easy for you. At Smart Drive UK, our mock theory test practice is tailored to the DVLA driving exam. Passing our practice test means you can pass the DVLA theory practice test, which comes before the actual theory test.
Qualify for your driving license in Beaconsfield
To qualify for a driver’s license, you will have to take the official DVLA test. We have little doubt that you will be able to ace the test after completing one of our driving programs. The hundreds of customers who have used our service and passed the test the first time provide sufficient evidence that our courses are designed to deliver results.
Booking your Test
How do I go about booking a test?
First, we suggest that you make your booking via the official Gov.UK website. You may lose money if you decide to book via a third-party website instead. You should only book your driving test if you have already passed the hazard perception test and the theory test. Does this sound confusing? Not to worry, you’ll get all the help you need from Smart Drive UK driving instructors who will help you through every step of the process.
How long do the tests take?
There are five parts to the practical driving exam, including independent driving, vehicle reversing, an eyesight check, safety questions, and driving ability. The process is the same for both manual and automatic transmission. The driving test takes less than an hour, specifically 40 minutes.
It’s test day, now what?
After showing your provisional license and theory test certificate, you’ll need to prove that you have good eyesight by reading the number of a license plate some distance away. Next, you will have to demonstrate your knowledge by answering a series of show and tell questions, but only if you pass the eye test. The next stage involves proving that you can successfully reverse a car and drive without issue on different types of roads. The test includes 20 minutes of independent driving, possibly with an emergency stop. The entire driving test should last about 40 minutes. We understand that you may be extremely nervous during the practical driving exam, but remember that you have already encountered all you’ll have to do in your driving lessons.
After the test
Obtaining a full driving license
You should be proud now that you have passed your practical driving test. This means you are now qualified to apply for a proper driving license. The examiner will send the results of your practical driving test to the DVLA, who will process your license. Within three weeks of completing the practical test, you should receive your license. From day one, to the day you get your driving license, Smart Drive UK is always ready to guide you through the process. We are not done until you have been licensed as a qualified driver.
