High chance of first time pass
Many learner drivers believe it’s normal to fail their driving test on the first attempt. Although it is true that some people fail, many more tend to pass. It’s been statistically proven that you actually stand a better chance of passing your driving test the first time round. Failing a driving test is disappointing, both financially and emotionally, and it will cost more time and money to prepare for another test. For a driving school where you’ll get the best lessons to help you pass your driving test on the first attempt, come to Smart Drive UK. It is our pleasure to announce that we have some of the best first time pass rates across the UK.

What are the types of cars available for learning in?
Over the years, we have seen people who prefer to only learn in automatic vehicles, and we have also seen people that love the manual stick. We can cater to both groups, so the choice ultimately comes down to you. Your choice of learning with manual or automatic will be a smart one regardless, as both variants can be found all across the UK. If you’re not sure what type of car fits your unique requirements, don’t worry, our experienced staff can help you make the right choice. (please note automatic cars are subject to availability). You are just a phone call away from getting expert advice.
Can I begin my driving lessons before I have passed the theory test?
Generally, you will be advised to pass the theory test before you go for your practical driving lessons. There is nothing wrong with this, as it makes sense to understand how a car works before you get into the driver’s seat. Here at Smart Drive UK, however, we understand that it is best to combine both theoretical and practical training. With this, you can immediately see how the things you have learnt in theory can work in practice. There is also a higher chance of success with your theory test when you have started with your driving lessons.
What is the length of time for each lesson?
You probably combine a variety of activities over your day, so you’ll want to find out how long it will take to complete a lesson. The duration of each lesson depends on your aptitude, and the instructor assigned to you. However, our system of training means that our students generally spend around a couple of hours on each lesson. If you’d like a faster instruction programme, get in touch with us to discuss your preferences.
How often should I have my driving lessons?
Everyone’s schedule differs. However, if you can get at least two hours of driving training every week, it will be sufficient. Depending on your situation, you can decide to keep this schedule. Or you can opt for a more flexible schedule, which we’ll be more than happy to accommodate. Many of our clients that have the time prefer opting for back to back training every day, so they can be prepared for their driving test faster. Regardless of your schedule, we can put together a programme that best suits your needs.
Please fill free to call us on 08450 179 778 or Text/Call on 07760 767170.
Can I have lessons in my own car?
Certain people prefer receiving their driving training behind the wheel of their own car. We are amenable to this because we believe training with your own car can be helpful if you intend on taking the driving test with that same car. It’s also possible that you just got the car and are looking to familiarise yourself with it. Regardless of what your motive might be, Smart Drive UK can deliver driving lessons in your own car. But we can only provide this service if your car is insured, roadworthy, and registered. This will be verified through an inspection of your papers by our instructors, and after your insurance company has been notified that the car will be used for driving lessons.
Can I have more than one lesson a week?
If your schedule allows for more than one lesson a week, then there’s no reason not to take advantage. At Smart Drive UK, we have both fixed and flexible schedule plans available that can accommodate even your busy schedule. If you want a sped up training programme that consists of multiple lessons every week, we’ve got you covered. Our priority is that you learn at a pace you are most comfortable with and are prepared in time to take and pass your driving test on the first try. Our impressive first time pass rate is a clear sign of our capability to make you a roadworthy driver within your preferred time frame.

Would you prefer a manual gear shift for your driving lessons? We can deliver. When working with our skilled and experienced instructors, manual driving lessons become easy and enjoyable. Aside from driving, your assigned instructor will share with you crucial knowledge about manual vehicles, that will positively impact your future driving experience. By the conclusion of your manual driving lesson, you’ll be able to safely change gears, control the clutch, and confidently manoeuvre through traffic. A key benefit of our manual driving lessons is once you complete the programme, you won’t have any trouble also driving an automatic car. This is because the skills provided by our manual driving lessons will also help you drive an automatic.
What is Pass Plus?
The Pass Plus scheme is targeted at drivers in the UK who have recently successfully passed their driving test. A lot of new drivers lack the confidence to drive on roads with actual traffic. But Smart Drive UK can help you build up the confidence you need to become a master of the road once you pass your driving test. Pass Plus training can further boost your confidence on the road by giving you the opportunity to experience roads outside your immediate vicinity first hand. Interested in more information? Contact us by phone for a friendly chat about our Pass Plus scheme.
New Hazard Perception Test
One of the tests you’ll have to undergo before passing the UK driving test is the Hazard Perception Test. You cannot be issued a full driver’s license without passing the Hazard Perception test. You will be shown a series of videos during the test that detail regular road scenes, as well as a developing hazard. You need to respond appropriately to the developing hazard to pass the test. To ensure you progress to the practical driving test at the DVLA, we offer our students comprehensive preparation for the Hazard Perception test, which is a precursor. Our trainers will guide you with our collection of Hazard Perception videos and revision questions, to fully prepare you on what to expect.

Are there tests that I must pass to get my license?
Practice before the main test
Why worry about passing your driving test when we have a solution to make it as easy as can be. Practice matters, so we offer mock theory test practice ahead of the DVLA driving exam. Passing our practice test means you can pass the DVLA theory practice test, which comes before the actual theory test.
Driving Test Castle-Bromwich
You are required to pass the official DVLA driving test before you can obtain your driver’s license. We have little doubt that you will be able to ace the test after completing one of our driving courses. The hundreds of customers who have used our service and passed the test the first time provide sufficient evidence that our courses are designed to deliver results.
Book your tests
What is the process of booking a test like?
It is best to book your driving test directly via the official Gov.UK website. If you book it through third party websites, you could end up paying more than you should. You need to have passed the theory test and hazard perception test before you book your driving test. Sound confusing? Not to worry, you’ll get all the help you need from Smart Drive UK instructors who will help you through every step of the process.
How long do the tests take?
The driving test has five aspects, which include an eyesight check, driving ability, safety questions, vehicle reversing, and independent driving. Whether you are testing for automatic or manual transmission, it’s the same process. The actual driving test takes an average of 40 minutes to complete.
What happens on the designated day?
Before anything else, you will show your theory test and provisional license and then prove you have good eyesight by reading a number plate from a distance. Upon passing the step, a series of show and tell questions will follow, aimed at testing your knowledge. The next stage involves proving that you can successfully reverse a car and drive without issue on different types of roads. You will be asked to drive independently for approximately 20 minutes, and you may be asked to complete an emergency stop. The entire driving test should last about 40 minutes. It is perfectly normal to be nervous during the practical driving test, but there is really nothing to it because everything you will have to do, you have already done through the course of your driving lessons.
Post-Test
Getting your full driving license
Well done on getting through your practical driving test. The next step is to apply for a full driving a license. Our representatives at Smart Drive UK are always ready to provide guidance throughout the process of getting a driving license. We are not done until you have been licensed as a qualified driver.
