The process is the same for both manual and automatic transmission. The driving test takes less than an hour, specifically 40 minutes.
What you should expect on the day of the test.
Before anything else, you will show your theory test and provisional license and then prove you have good eyesight by reading a number plate from a distance. Once you have passed through this stage, the examiner will test your knowledge by asking a number of show and tell questions. Next, you will be made to prove to the examiner that you can drive safely and effectively no matter the terrain, as well as successfully reverse a vehicle. The examiner will ask you to drive on your own for about 20 minutes and, along the way, may ask you to complete an emergency stop.
