What are the types of cars available for driving lessons?
We currently have an array of manual cars you can choose from for your driving lessons or intensive driving courses in Brighton, and so the choice is completely down to you. Can’t work out the best option for you based on your requirements? Why don’t you discuss them with us, and we can help you make a decision.
Should I begin my driving lessons before I have passed the theory test?
Generally, you will be advised to pass the theory test before you go for your practical driving lessons. This system has it benefits, as you will then know enough about using a car before getting behind the wheel.
As experts in the industry, however, we know that it is best to combine both theoretical and practical training. The combination creates a synergy which makes it easier to grasp both elements of driving training at the same time. Additionally, starting your driving lessons in Brighton will help you better prepare for the theory test.
What is the length of time for driving lessons in Brighton?
We know it is important for you to know the duration of driving lessons, so as to better plan your day. Your assimilation speed and how the teacher chooses to deliver the driving lesson are the major determinants in the duration of each driving lesson. With our system of training, and the way we have structured our courses including intensive driving courses, however, you can expect to spend around two hours in a driving lesson. Want a quicker or slower training schedule? Call us right away to discuss your options.
How often should I have my driving lessons in Brighton?
We are well aware that your schedule is likely different from everyone else’s. However, it’s recommended that learner drivers have at least two hours of training each week. If it suits your needs, you can continue your training following this schedule. Or we can arrange a more flexible schedule that suits your needs. If you prefer back to back driving lessons, this can speed up your learning process, and help you prepare for the driving test that little bit faster. Whatever your schedule is, we’ve got you covered.
Can I have driving lessons in my own car?
Certain people prefer receiving their driving training behind the wheel of their own car. This is understandable, and may even be a great idea if you intend on using your own car during your driving test. It’s also possible that you just got the car and are looking to familiarise yourself with it. Whatever your motive is, our experts at Smart Drive UK Driving School in Brighton can have you ready for your test with training in your own car. But this type of service is only available to clients with registered and comprehensively insured roadworthy vehicles. One of our driving instructors will advise you notify your car insurance company that your vehicle will be used for driving lessons, and will also inspect your car to verify its valid registration.
Can I have more than one driving lesson a week?
If your schedule allows for more than one lesson a week, then there’s no reason not to take advantage. At Smart Drive UK Driving School, we have both fixed and flexible schedule plans available that can accommodate even your busy schedule. If you prefer multiple lessons or an intensive driving course every week to speed up your learning process, we can deliver. Make a test booking
How do I go about booking a driving test?
It’s recommended you book the driving test via the official Gov.UK website. It is more cost-effective to avoid booking through a third-party website. Booking a driving test comes after you have passed the hazard perception test and theory test. Can’t quite wrap your head around it? Not to worry, you’ll get all the help you need from Smart Drive UK driving instructors who will help you through every step of the process.
How long will I have to wait to complete the test?
The practical driving test is broken into five parts: an eyesight check, safety questions, driving ability, vehicle reversing, and independent driving. The process is the same for both manual and automatic transmission. You will only have to spare about 40 minutes to complete the driving test.
It’s test day, now what?
The first stage will test your eyesight by making you read from a number plate, but before that, you will have to show your theory test certificate and your provisional license. Next, you will have to demonstrate your knowledge by answering a series of show and tell questions, but only if you pass the eye test. Next, you will be made to prove to the examiner that you can drive safely and effectively no matter the terrain, as well as successfully reverse a vehicle. You will be asked to drive independently for approximately 20 minutes, and you may be asked to complete an emergency stop. The entire driving test should last about 40 minutes. It is perfectly normal to be nervous during the practical driving test, but there is really nothing to it because everything you will have to do, you have already done through the course of your driving lessons.
What follows after the test?
Ready for a full driving license
You should be proud now that you have passed your practical driving test. Now, you can apply for a full driving license. Once the results of your practical driving test are sent to the DVLA, your license will be processed. You should expect to receive this within three weeks of passing the practical driving test. Our representatives at Smart Drive UK Driving School are always ready to provide guidance throughout the process of getting a driving license. We will only have carried out our mandate when you have become a qualified and licensed driver.
