One of the highest first time pass rates

A common misconception amongst learner drivers is that a fail on the first driving test attempt is normal. The fact is, there is no guarantee that you will fail your first test, because many people have also passed. Results show that there is a higher probability of passing your driving test the first time.

After you fail a test, you will feel disappointed as a result of the emotion and the finances you put into the process. For a driving school where you’ll get the best lessons to help you pass your driving test on the first attempt, come to Smart Drive UK. We are delighted with the fact that we have some of the best pass rates in the UK.

Call us right away to get started.

What are the types of cars available for people like me?

We currently have an array of manual cars you can chose to learn in, and so the choice is completely down to you. Can’t work out the best option for you based on your requirements? Why don’t you discuss them with us, and we can help you make a decision.

Is it right to begin my driving lessons before I have passed the theory test?

You will generally be advised to hold on your practical driving lessons until you have passed your theory test. There is nothing wrong with this, as it makes sense to understand how a car works before you get into the driver’s seat.

Here at Smart Drive UK, however, we understand that it is best to combine both theoretical and practical training. This allows you to immediately see how theory works while behind the wheels. Another advantage to starting your driving test right away, is that you will be better prepared for the theory test.

What is the length of time for each lesson?

We know you’d like to find out how long it will take you to complete a lesson, so you can better plan your day. The length of time it will take to complete one lesson is dependent on your learning ability and how the teacher chooses to deliver the lesson. With our system of training, and the way we have structured our courses, however, you can expect to spend around two hours in a session. Do you think you can learn faster? Contact us to set up a faster instruction programme.

How often should I have my driving lessons?

We are well aware that your schedule is likely different from everyone else’s. However, it is best if a learner driver gets at least two hours of driving training every week. If you like, you can choose to maintain this schedule. But if you’d prefer a more flexible schedule, we can arrange something for you. For instance, we can provide you back to back training that’ll get you sufficiently prepared for your driving test sooner. Whatever your schedule is, we’ve got you covered.

Can I have lessons in my own car?

Many individuals prefer driving lessons being received in their own car. We are amenable to this because we believe training with your own car can be helpful if you intend on taking the driving test with that same car. You may also be looking to familiarise yourself with the vehicle, especially if it’s a new one. Whatever your reason, Smart Drive UK can prepare you for your driving test with your own car. But we can only provide this service if your car is insured, roadworthy, and registered. One of our instructors will notify your car insurance company that your vehicle will be used for driving lessons, and will also inspect your car to verify its valid registration.

Can I have more than one lesson a week?

If your schedule allows for more than one lesson a week, then there’s no reason not to take advantage. At Smart Drive UK, we have both fixed and flexible schedules that can accommodate everyone. If you want a sped up training programme that consists of multiple lessons every week, we’ve got you covered. At the end of the day, what matters is that you’re able to grasp what is being taught and can pass the driving test the first time. We have a very impressive first time pass rate, so you’re in reliable hands no matter your schedule or learning speed.

You are just a text message away from getting expert advice.

Make a booking for your test

How do I book a test?

First, we suggest that you make your booking via the official Gov.UK website. You may lose money if you decide to book via a third-party website instead. Booking a driving test comes after you have passed the hazard perception test and theory test. Not clear enough? Don’t worry, our instructors at Smart Drive UK will be available to guide you through every stage of the process.

How long will I have to wait to complete the test?

The practical driving test is broken into five parts: an eyesight check, safety questions, driving ability, vehicle reversing, and independent driving. The process is the same for both manual and automatic transmission. You will only have to spare about 40 minutes to complete the driving test.

What you should expect on the day of the test.

Before anything else, you will show your theory test and provisional license and then prove you have good eyesight by reading a number plate from a distance. Once you have passed through this stage, the examiner will test your knowledge by asking a number of show and tell questions. Next, you will be made to prove to the examiner that you can drive safely and effectively no matter the terrain, as well as successfully reverse a vehicle. You will have to drive without guidance for about 20 minutes, in which the examiner may ask you to stop to test your ability to manage an emergency. In its entirety, the driving test should not take more than 40 minutes or so. It is perfectly normal to be nervous during the practical driving test, but there is really nothing to it because everything you will have to do, you have already done through the course of your driving lessons.

What to do after the test
