Is it possible to pick me up from one place and drop me off at another?
If you’d like a driving school that offers flexibility in pick-up times, we are your best bet. One of the things that sets us apart from the crowd is the fact that our instructors have no problem with picking you up for classes from anywhere you want, and will also drop you off at any location of your choosing. We understand the need for you to only want to focus on driving training, instead of how to get to the training location and back, so we are able to, for instance, pick you up at school and drop you off at home after the session. One of the highest first time pass rates
Most learner drivers think it is normal to fail a driving test on the first attempt. Although it is true that some people fail, many more tend to pass. Statistics have shown us time and time again that a first time pass is the most likely outcome of your driving test. Failing a driving test will leave you feeling very disappointed, when you factor in the mental stress and finances that went into the training. If you want to get the training that truly prepares you for a first time pass, Smart Drive UK is the place to be. We are happy to note that we have some of the best pass rates across the UK.

What type of cars do you have for learners?
There are some learner drivers who prefer to learn with automatic vehicles only, while there are those who opt for the manual or gear stick variety. Your choice of learning car is ultimately down to you, as we have both types. Both manual and automatic cars are common on UK roads, and either choice will work well for whatever you need it for. Not sure which option to go with? We have expert advisers on hand to help you make a decision. (please note automatic cars are subject to availability). Call us right away to get started.
Can I start driving lessons without having passed the theory test?
Many people will think about passing the theory test before taking practical driving lessons. That thought process isn’t entirely wrong, as this method will give you adequate background knowledge on using a car before you actually get in the driver’s seat. However, our approach here at Smart Drive UK is to mix theoretical and practical training. This combination means you can quickly see how the theoretical concepts are applicable in real life. There is also a higher chance of success with your theory test when you have started with your driving lessons.
What is the length of time for each lesson?
Many people have a lot to do to make up their day, so it’s no surprise that you’ll want to know how long each lesson will take. The length of time it will take to complete one lesson is dependent on your learning ability and how the teacher chooses to deliver the lesson. However, with our instructors, and our carefully crafted training system, you can expect to spend an average of 2 hours on each lesson. Interested in a different training schedule? Call us on 07760 767170 to find out more.
How often should I have my driving lessons?
Everyone’s schedule differs. Nonetheless, if you are a learner driver, at least two hours of driving training per week can be very beneficial. If it suits your needs, you can continue your training following this schedule. Or you can opt for a more flexible schedule, which we’ll be more than happy to accommodate. If you prefer back to back training each day, this can speed up your learning process, and help you prepare for the driving test that little bit faster. Regardless of your schedule, we can always make arrangements to suit you.

Can I have lessons in my own car?
Certain people prefer receiving their driving training behind the wheel of their own car. If you intend on using your car for the driving test, we believe practicing with your own car could be a great idea. It might also be the case of you owning a new car and trying to familiarise yourself with it. Whatever the reason, at Smart Drive UK, we are able to offer our customers driving lessons in their own car. But this type of service is only available to clients with registered and comprehensively insured roadworthy vehicles. This will be verified through an inspection of your papers by our instructors, and after your insurance company has been notified that the car will be used for driving lessons.
Can I have more than one lesson a week?
We are ready to accommodate you if you have the time for more than one lesson a week. At Smart Drive UK, we have both fixed and flexible schedules that can accommodate everyone. If you prefer a shorter training and practice programme that involves multiple driving lessons every week, we can arrange it. Our aim is to have you master driving at your own pace and be ready to ace your driving test the first time you take it. The impressive first time pass rate of our students is a clear indication you’re in capable hands with Smart Drive UK, regardless of the schedule or learning speed you choose.

Our manual driving lesson includes how to safely change gears, clutch control, and how to confidently manoeuvre through traffic. This is because the skills provided by our manual driving lessons will also help you drive an automatic.
What is Pass Plus?
Pass Plus is targeted to benefit UK drivers who have just recently passed their driving test. Many new drivers lack the confidence to drive on busy public roads. Thankfully, Smart Drive UK can be there to turn you into a more mature and confident driver once you successfully conclude your driving test. Pass Plus training lets you leave your usual roads to experience other roads first hand, after your initial training has familiarised you with major road conditions. Would you like to find out more? Contact us by phone for a friendly chat about our Pass Plus scheme.
New Hazard Perception Test
The Hazard Perception Test is essential for UK learner drivers looking to pass the driving theory exam. It is a compulsory test that has to be passed before you can be granted a full driver’s license. During the test, various videos depicting normal road scenes and a developing hazard will be shown to you. Responding appropriately to the developing hazard will determine if you pass the test. To ensure you progress to the practical driving test at the DVLA, we offer our students comprehensive preparation for the Hazard Perception test, which is a precursor. At Smart Drive UK, you’ll have access to our Hazard Perception video collection, as well as a series of revision questions.

Required tests you must pass before you are issued your license
Mock theory test
Passing your driving test has just been made easier, so don’t fret. With Smart Drive UK, you can practice before the DVLA driving exam in order to ensure you are prepared. Passing our practice test means you can pass the DVLA theory practice test, which comes before the actual theory test.
Driving Test Cleobury-Mortimer
You can only get your driver’s license after you have taken the official DVLA test. We have little doubt that you will be able to ace the test after completing one of our driving courses. With the high pass rate amongst hundreds of our customers, you can see why we are so confident.
Book your tests
What do I have to do to book a test?
Go to the official Gov.UK website to book your driving test. We recommend this because you may end up having to pay more if you use third-party websites. You should only book your driving test if you have already passed the hazard perception test and the theory test. Sound complicated? The process will get clearer when you work with our instructors at Smart Drive UK, who will guide you from day one.
How long will I have to wait to complete the test?
The practical driving test is broken into five parts: an eyesight check, safety questions, driving ability, vehicle reversing, and independent driving. Whether you are testing for automatic or manual transmission, it’s the same process. The actual driving test takes an average of 40 minutes to complete.
What can I expect on test day?
Before anything else, you will show your theory test and provisional license and then prove you have good eyesight by reading a number plate from a distance. Once you have passed through this stage, the examiner will test your knowledge by asking a number of show and tell questions. After this stage, you are required to prove to the examiner that you can successfully complete a reversing manoeuvre, plus drive safely and effectively on different types of roads. The test includes 20 minutes of independent driving, possibly with an emergency stop. The entire driving test should last about 40 minutes. Remember that while the practical driving test can be nerve-racking, all you will be asked to do has already been covered as you went through your driving course.
Post-Test
Obtaining a full driving license
Great job acing that practical driving test. The next step is to apply for a full driving a license. The results of your practical driving test will be sent to the DVLA, where your license will be processed. You should expect to receive this within three weeks of passing the practical driving test. At Smart Drive UK, we are always available to guide you through the process up until you receive your driving license. Our job is only complete when you are officially a qualified and licensed driver.
