One of the highest first time pass rates
A common misconception amongst learner drivers is that a fail on the first driving test attempt is normal. The number of people that fail their driving test may be high, but the number that passes the test the first time is also high. In reality, there is statistical evidence to show that the first test is the one you will most likely pass. Failing a driving test will leave you feeling very disappointed, when you factor in the mental stress and finances that went into the training. For a driving school where you’ll get the best lessons to help you pass your driving test on the first attempt, come to Smart Drive UK. It is our pleasure to announce that we have some of the best first time pass rates across the UK.

What are the types of cars available for people like me?
Over the years, we have seen people who prefer to only learn in automatic vehicles, and we have also seen people that love the manual stick. We have both manual and automatic cars to learn in, so the choice of car comes down to you. Whatever option you choose to go with, you will be in good company, as there are lots of manual and automatic drivers in the UK. Can’t make up your mind on one choice over the other? You can talk to us right away and we will be delighted to help (please note automatic cars are subject to availability). You are just a phone call away from getting expert advice.
Can I start driving lessons without having passed the theory test?
Many people will think about passing the theory test before taking practical driving lessons. That thought process isn’t entirely wrong, as this method will give you adequate background knowledge on using a car before you actually get in the driver’s seat. As experts in the industry, however, we know that it is best to combine both theoretical and practical training. This combination means you can quickly see how the theoretical concepts are applicable in real life. Another advantage to starting your driving test right away, is that you will be better prepared for the theory test.
What is the length of time for each lesson?
We know it is important for you to know the duration of each lesson, so as to better plan your day. The length of time spent on each lesson will depend on your learning ability, and the teaching methods deployed by the instructor. With our system of training, and the way we have structured our courses, however, you can expect to spend around two hours in a session. Do you think you can learn faster? Contact us to set up a faster instruction programme .
How often should I have my driving lessons?
We all have different schedules. However, it is best if a learner driver gets at least two hours of driving training every week. If you like, you can choose to maintain this schedule. But if you’d prefer a more flexible schedule, we can arrange something for you. If you prefer back to back training each day, this can speed up your learning process, and help you prepare for the driving test that little bit faster. No matter what your daily schedule looks like, we have you covered.

Can I have lessons in my own car?
Certain people prefer receiving their driving training behind the wheel of their own car. This is not only understandable, but also a great idea, especially if you plan to use the car for your driving test. It could also be that you have a new car and want to get familiar with it. Whatever the reason, at Smart Drive UK, we are able to offer our customers driving lessons in their own car. But we cannot provide this service if your vehicle isn’t deemed roadworthy, or if it is uninsured and unregistered. One of our instructors will notify your car insurance company that your vehicle will be used for driving lessons, and will also inspect your car to verify its valid registration.
Can I have more than one lesson a week?
If you have enough time for multiple driving lessons per week, you are welcome to take advantage of all the time at your disposal. At Smart Drive UK, we have both fixed and flexible schedule plans available that can accommodate even your busy schedule. If you would like to complete your training fast by taking multiple lessons every week, we can arrange that. Our priority is to provide you the training you need at your preferred pace, and have you prepared to ace the driving test the first time. We have a very impressive first time pass rate, so you’re in reliable hands no matter your schedule or learning speed.

By the conclusion of your manual driving lesson, you’ll be able to safely change gears, control the clutch, and confidently manoeuvre through traffic. Make a booking for your test
Where do I go to book a test?
Go to the official Gov.UK website to book your driving test. If you book it through third party websites, you could end up paying more than you should. Booking a driving test comes after you have passed the hazard perception test and theory test. Sound complicated? You don’t have to worry too much, because our instructors at Smart Drive UK will be on hand to guide you through it all.
What is the duration of the tests?
The driving test has five aspects, which include an eyesight check, driving ability, safety questions, vehicle reversing, and independent driving. You will have to complete the steps in the same manner, whether you are working with automatic or manual transmission. You will only have to spare about 40 minutes to complete the driving test.
What happens on test day?
Once you have showed your provisional license and theory test certificate, you will be asked to read the digits of a license plate a few feet away to prove you have good eyesight. If you pass this stage, you will be asked a series of ‘show and tell’ questions by the examiner to demonstrate your knowledge. Next, you will be made to prove to the examiner that you can drive safely and effectively no matter the terrain, as well as successfully reverse a vehicle. The test includes 20 minutes of independent driving, possibly with an emergency stop. In its entirety, the driving test should not take more than 40 minutes or so. Remember that while the practical driving test can be nerve-racking, all you will be asked to do has already been covered as you went through your driving course.
What follows after the test?
Getting your full driving license
Great job acing that practical driving test. This is what qualifies you to apply for a full driving license. The DVLA will process your license after receiving the results from your examiner. You should expect to receive this within three weeks of passing the practical driving test. In order to ensure you have all the assistance you need, we at Smart Drive UK are always available to guide you through the process of obtaining a driving license. Our job is only complete when you are officially a qualified and licensed driver.
