High chance of first time pass
Most learner drivers think it is normal to fail a driving test on the first attempt. Although it is true that some people fail, many more tend to pass. Statistics have shown us time and time again that a first time pass is the most likely outcome of your driving test. When you fail a test, the emotional and financial commitment that went into the process makes it all the more disappointing. If you want to get the training that truly prepares you for a first time pass, Smart Drive UK is the place to be. It is our pleasure to announce that we have some of the best first time pass rates across the UK.

Is it possible to start my driving lessons before I have passed the theory test?
Many people will think about passing the theory test before taking practical driving lessons. There are benefits to this advice, as it is in your best interest to, first and foremost, understand how a car works before you get into it. One thing we have learnt in our experience here at Smart Drive UK, however, is that combining theoretical and practical training is always the best bet. With this, you can immediately see how the things you have learnt in theory can work in practice. Another advantage to starting your driving test right away, is that you will be better prepared for the theory test.
What is the duration of each lesson?
We know it is important for you to know the duration of each lesson, so as to better plan your day. Your assimilation speed and how the teacher chooses to deliver the lesson are the major determinants in the duration of each lesson. However, our system of training means that our students generally spend around a couple of hours on each lesson. Do you think you can learn faster? Contact us to set up a faster instruction programme .
How often should I have my driving lessons?
Everyone’s schedule differs. However, it is best if a learner driver gets at least two hours of driving training every week. If it suits your needs, you can continue your training following this schedule. But if you’d prefer a more flexible schedule, we can arrange something for you. Such as back to back trainings each day, that will get you prepared for your driving test in shorter time. Regardless of your schedule, we can always make arrangements to suit you.

It might also be the case of you owning a new car and trying to familiarise yourself with it. Whatever your reason, Smart Drive UK can prepare you for your driving test with your own car. But this type of service is only available to clients with registered and comprehensively insured roadworthy vehicles. One of our instructors will notify your car insurance company that your vehicle will be used for driving lessons, and will also inspect your car to verify its valid registration.

New Hazard Perception Test
You can’t pass the UK driving test without passing the Hazard Perception Test. It is a compulsory test that has to be passed before you can be granted a full driver’s license. You will be shown a series of videos during the test that detail regular road scenes, as well as a developing hazard. You need to respond appropriately to the developing hazard to pass the test. At Smart Drive UK, we make sure every one of our learner drivers are put through their paces in preparation for the Hazard Perception Test, which is a precursor to the practical driving test at the DVLA. After practicing with our collection of Hazard Perception videos and revision questions, you’ll be more than prepared for the test.

Passing your driving test gets easier with us, as we have made provision for you to practice. Smart Drive UK helps you get ready for the DVLA driving test by providing mock theory test practice. What is the process of booking a test like?
The best way to book your driving test is to do so through the official Gov.UK website. We recommend this because you may end up having to pay more if you use third-party websites. You should only book your driving test if you have already passed the hazard perception test and the theory test. Can’t quite wrap your head around it? It’s not as complicated as it sounds, you’ll have Smart Drive UK instructors to guide you from day one until you get your license.
How long will it take before the tests are completed?
For the driving test to be completed, you have to complete five steps, including vehicle reversing, independent driving, safety questions, driving ability, and an eyesight check. It is the same process for automatic transmission as it is for manual transmission. The actual driving test takes an average of 40 minutes to complete.
It’s test day, now what?
The first stage will test your eyesight by making you read from a number plate, but before that, you will have to show your theory test certificate and your provisional license. Once you have passed through this stage, the examiner will test your knowledge by asking a number of show and tell questions. After this, the examiner will test your ability to reverse a car and drive on different kinds of roads in a safe and effective manner. The test includes 20 minutes of independent driving, possibly with an emergency stop. The entire driving test should last about 40 minutes. Although taking the practical driving test can be a nerve-racking experience, it’s important to remember that everything you will encounter during the process is something you have performed several times during the course of your driving lessons.
So you have completed the test
What happens before you get your full driving license?
You should be proud now that you have passed your practical driving test. Now, you can apply for a full driving license. Once the results of your practical driving test are sent to the DVLA, your license will be processed. Your driving license should be ready within about 21 days of completing the practical driving test. At Smart Drive UK, we are always available to guide you through the process up until you receive your driving license. Our job is only complete when you are officially a qualified and licensed driver.

FAQs
However, this is only possible if the car is roadworthy, registered and comprehensively insured. Will verify that your car is right for your lessons by inspecting your papers, and your insurance company will have to be notified about the driving lessons in the car. We suggest you move lessons and your vehicle only when it is safe to do so, and we normally recommend that you begin lessons in a dual-controlled car and by your driving instructor.
