The Devon driver training experience with Smart Drive
You have to pass the DVSA Approved Driving Instructor exam to be legally permitted to be a driving tutor in the UK. The exam has 3 segments. The first part tests your hazard perception via a multiple choice questions. The part one of the test is simply a more difficult version of the driver license test. The part two is a practical driving test that is tougher than the one students take to earn their driving license. The part three of the test is where you get to prove that you can actually teach and coach. The examiner assesses the student at this stage, and you get to demonstrate your ability to demonstrate lesson planning, risk management and teaching and learning strategies. It’s a comprehensive and difficult exam, as should be expected.
